It's time to take back the web

- It's time to take back the web
I remember the web like this (showing a small network). It was a cozy place where we would go in the evening to read the news, our favorite forum, or the blog of another stranger with a mysterious nickname.
The Internet didn’t scream, didn’t try to attract our attention1, didn’t jump at us from around the corner. It was a network (web) - protocols, devices that served the purpose of uniting us.
I miss it today. But I know that we can bring back the web, relying on the right principles and rationally using tools.
p.s. I am starting this series to draw attention to the topic and, perhaps, find like-minded people. Those who also remember the cozy network and see what unlimited money in the hands of “cannibals” has turned it into.
Although, there were gif banners, but they didn’t try to take over our space, but quietly blinked in theirs. ↩︎
